DVD Burner busy

I´m too having those problem. I always burn with Nero (express) but after installing MF4 upgrade (from MF3) I was unable to burn any DVD. I toasted at least 10 of them, before none. I´m working with removovable Harddisks, so I finally went back to an old version, without MF4 and all was working fine again. This showed me that there was not an hardware issue. I will try to uninstall the datafiles you were writting about and let you know if that was the trick.

Disabling Data Add works too
I received a reply from Ulead Support and they say that disabling Data Add (through the Properties of the DVD writer) works too. But I would say that if you don't intend to use your DVD as a 'hard drive,' simply remove Data Add altogether.

Try cleaning registry
I don't know if this will help you, but after I uninstalled MF4, I ran my registry cleaning tool and it identified hundreds (310!) of registry errors that could be readily fixed. Many of these were related to DVDs. I try to keep my registry clean; I suspect that when MF4 started doing weird things, may have messed up the registry.
If you don't have one already, I recommended that you download a good registry cleaner and clean your registry thoroughly. I use a commercial product, but I hear the free EasyCleaner from ToniArts is very good.
Be sure to delete all the temporary folders created by MF4. They're usually located on the hard drive that you're burning from. I had the MF4 problem PLUS an unrelated corrupt file on my external HDD that really had me flummoxed for a while.

Thank you Centauri27, I used Vcom systemsuite and now al seems to be working as it should. Still wondering if Ulead will fix the problemen between nero and MF4. By the way do you know a program that can fix my dvd-rw´s I used during the problems? I used them during the conflict between nero and MF4 but they seemed to be spoiled and unusable for any dvd-burning program. I tried to format them (short or long) but the dvd-recorders won´t accept them any more. They seemed to be missing information, which the burners need for using them.

What a coincidence--I use SystemSuite as well! Their registry cleaner is pretty good, but I still run EasyCleaner occasionally. It often finds errors that SystemSuite misses.
As for your DVD problem: that sounds rather unusual. I assume you're working with DVD-RWs? I always author to an RW before committing to an 'R' disc. (I hate potentially wasting discs, no matter how cheap they are!). If so, I don't know what could be the problem. There's a chance that the MF4 failure could've corrupted your RW disc so that it can't be used again. Or it could simply be a faulty RW disc that just gave out. Is it Memorex? I don't trust Memorex discs anymore--too many failures. Other people have told me that too.
I don't know of any way to revive an RW disc that won't format anymore. I usually just toss them out. I've used Memorex, Verbatim, and HP rewritables. My only failures have been with Memorex.
Hope this helps.

I had all the same problems with "Burner Busy" so I called Ulead and they gave me a refund. I have been using Intervideo WinDVD creator and the picture quality is great even on larger and longer files. It is not as good as far as editing goes but if the final product is what you are after it is well worth using.
