Newbie Here - Can not do a capture with VS8

Post by geekgurl64 »

Hello all:

I have looked all thru the web and these boards and I have not found an answer to my problem. I am a newbie to the video/DVD/PC world (used to be an UNIX geek in my previous life). I just bought VideoStudio 8 with the MPEG4 plug-in. Prior to installed the plug-in, I was able to capture my analog video (Sony Hi-8/Dazzle Hollywood DV-Bridge/Firewire Card - connected with a S-Video cable) to the program. After installing the plug-in, I am unable to get the thing to capture. When I try to capture video, I get the following error message:

"Unable to capture the file because it is copyright protected"

The file that I am trying to capture is NOT copyright protected - it is video of my two small children at culture camp in July. :/

I have tried all day to try to contact tech support at Ulead and I am getting "we are closed" in the middle of the day. I also have tried to register my product and I am getting the dreaded "page not found". ARG!

Any ideas??

Thanks!

Have you installed the XP SP1 and latest Direct X? I hope this helps.
