Moving pictures

Hi, I'm a new user of VS and actually new to editing. I would like some help though, hope that you could answer a few of my questions that I would have from time to time. Is it possible for VS to have a picture move from left to right (and not panning) on a black background?

And also, where can I find cartoon images that I can upload to VS? I tried Cyberlink Powerdirector 6, it had cute images on it but lacked enough overlays for me to play around with.

Finally, I noticed that when I play my movie, it's a little blurred, and so with a lot of other sample videos using VS. Is it really that way when producing?
