Problems creating DD5.1 output from captured Digital 8

Learning Video Studio 10+ has been a frustrating experience. It seems everything I have captured and rendered to be Dolby Digital 5.1 seems to play back as ProLogic. I did have one video file that to my suprirse was Dolby Digital 5.1. It turns out that this was one I had captured as DV Type-2 vs. Type 1. Would this make a difference?

Everytime I think I am getting the hang of this package it throws me a curve ball.
