Save Video format and burning

Post by endure_tears »

Hi all,

i'm helping my company to do video editing using ulead.

my format of the original video is avi

i inserted the avi into ulead media studio pro's timeline and start editing.
but i realize that it can only be saved as dvp. after i read a user manual i know that it is linked to the orginal souce.

when i tried to burn, according to the user manual, i have to go to file>>Export>>DVD authoring. however, i'm only able to load the video file that i have captured(.avi) and not the after editing one(.dvp)

my question is, after i edited the video and i need to burn it into a cd how do i do it?

thankz all of your help..
your assitance is greatly appriciated..

Your going to need a seperate program to burn it to DVD. What I do, is create the final version and export as an AVI, then load that AVI into VideoStudio, then burn from that program.

I'd reccommend getting DVD authouring software, such as, DVD Workshop 2, or something like Nero 7.

From VideoStudio 10, I always burn the project to the harddrive, then use that to make the DVD. (Just works best for me).

thankz for your reply to my post.

however, when i tried to export, i couldn't choose the edited file. for example the original souce file is (movie.avi) the edited one is (edited.dvp) when i go file>>Export>>DVD authoring i couldn't choose (edited.dvp) i'm only able to choose the (movie.avi).

btw..how do you export your video file? or convert .dvp to .avi ?

thankz for your help and effort =)

At the top of the menu bar is a button that looks like a movie clip, click that and follow the dialogs..

The DVD Authoring that comes with MSP is similar to DVD MovieFactory 4.0. What you would do from MSP is File/Create/Video File. Then "Save as Type" you want to use MPEG files, then you can select from the TEMPLATE for PAL or NTSC DVD. This will create a DVD-compliant mpeg file that you can then use in the DVD Authoring module.

But it doesnt create the Video_ts and audio_ts folders required to do an actual burn. Granted it creates the required format mpeg, but, thats it.

Which version of MSP are you running -- list all numbers in the version number.

Are you saying you can't do File/Create/Video File :?:

Also, you mentioned burning to CD -- did you mean CD or DVD :?:

yes you did, but, acutually, there is a difference. The creation of the ACTUAL video folder and a compliant video file. The actual video_ts and audio_ts folders are just easier to re-create, rather than an mpg file, loading into some arbitrary editor, without all the DVD chapter selections, etc, etc.

If you created the ACTUAL video_ts and Audio_TS folders, you already have the chapters necessary, etc. (hopefully at least one chapter, the start) Which means, other programs can just read the info and burn away..

Creating a compliant video file does not mean the process is finished.

Have you ever used the DVD Authoring module that comes with MSP8 :?: :?: :?:

I was saying to create the dvd-compliant mpeg file, and then use that file in the DVD Authoring module to create the final DVD

The OP said:

By creating the dvd-compliant mpeg file, they can then select the dvd-compliant mpeg file when going to the DVD Authoring module...
