VCD using MF5+

Post by Dil »

I am trying to create a VCD slide show using MF5+ which is currently 55 mins long and the programe says it is 632Mb in size so it should fit on to a 700Mb CD-R. When i try to renderit and burn it at the same time i get an error message; Burn Failed. and if I make a CD image to burn later it makes a 819Mb .ixa file which nero does not recognise. so i tried burning with Ulead Burn. Now 4.0 but each time i try it get the following message: insufficent disk space. do you know why it is doing this and is there any way to save the image as a .iso that i can burn using nero?

When you got to the burn step, did you have the option checked to Archive Images of slideshows :?: Including the image files with your disc will increase your disc space requirements. If you had it checked, that might be causing the image size to go larger than expected.

i think it might have been checked, im restarting it now with it unchecked, but iv just noticed that on the burn step it says:
Requiered Space:
Requiered/Available Hard Disk Space: (D:) 1.32Gb / 38.68 GB
Requiered/Available Disk Space: 0 Bytes / 702 MB
(0 Bytes) / (736.10 MB)

Im only creating a disk image at the moment, so there is no disk inserted at the moment, im guessing this is what is ment when it says the are 0Bytes of available disk space, but what does the 736.10MB in the brackets mean?

That's probably how much space you have on the CD disc you have inserted into your burner (sometimes there is a little "extra" on a 700mb CD-R -- but that's just a guess, I don't know for sure).

Glad that worked :)

Keep in mind that down the road you might create a VCD image that turns out to be larger than 700mb (it might be close to ~750mb to ~800mb). This should still be ok to burn to your CD-R -- as long as you are properly burning it as a VCD.
