Video Quality Issue when editing

I've been trying to add menus to dvds that I recordered on a set top recorder.

I've imported the dvd video into MF3 Disc Creator to add the menus and scene selections and after the output and burned to disc there's loss in video quality from the original.

Is there a way to avoid this or am I doing something wrong?
