I recently backed up my C drive prior to reinstalling XP home. I recovered UVS9 but on attempting to run it I get the following error message: Load mpeg vio driver error
C:documents and settings\all users\application data\ulead video systems\ulead videostudio\9.0\uvs.ini . Any ideas on how to sort this?

It seems anymore using a back-up program, then recovering is not full proof. I can remember with the old Win 3.1 and DOS, using back-up and recovery worked quite well. However since Win95, they don't seem to restore programs as they should. So about the best back-up is the install discs, or having the install files burned to a CD or DVD. Then just re-install the program.
Do you have VS9 on a CD, either the purchased one or one that you burned the ESD (download) to? If so then what I think you'll need to do is a fresh install. It appears that the MPEG driver files has been corrupt. To correct it you need fresh copies, which are contained in the installation files.
If you do have the installation CD, or the install files on CD then try doing a complete un-install/re-install. Ulead programs leave a lot of files behind. So just doing a simple add/remove programs from the control panel and then re-installing may not correct some issues. Instructions can be found here : Re-installation of Ulead Products
