Install Hassles

Hi
Newbie here


Prior to being able to install WinsDVD8,
WinDVD requires that the following requirements be installed...
Microsoft DirectX Feb2006 Runtime Installer
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)

Window comes up during, says:
Runtime Error
Program C: Cocument~~~~etc\dxwsetup.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

And then:
The installtion of Microsoft DirectX Feb2006 has failed. Setup will now exit.

Is there a work-around, or am I doing something wrong?

I would create a system restore point. Install Microsoft's DirectX 9.x . Then reboot your computer.
I am not sure that DirectX 9.x is uninstallable. For safety I would advise that you backup all of your data and files first.
