Unable to set File Associations

Post by streamrdr »

I am using PhotoImpact 12. The UFO file type is not associated with PhotoImpact.

When I go to set my file associations through PhotoImpact, I get the error message "This operation cannot be completed. File association cannot be changed by restricted users."

I'm an administrator on the system, so what is restricted me? Not Windows.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Do it another way instead.
Go to windows Explorer and find a UFO file, right click and select 'Open with' and make sure to check the box that says 'always use this program to oppen files of this type.'
