I just installed the trial version of Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus. The installation filename was dmf6_tbybhd_us.exe
The installation seemed to go smoothly.
I launched the program by clicking on the "Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Launcher"
I see a window titled "Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus". On the left, a list of choices such as "Video/Slideshow Disc", "Audio Disc", "Data Disc", etc.
I select "Video/Slideshow Disc". On the right, I have four options: "New Video Project", "New Slideshow Project", "Straight Capture to Disc", and "Open Existing Project".
No matter which of those four options I select, I get the same message: "Limit users can not try this product. You can use normally after successful activation."
This is the first time I have ever installed this product. It seems strange that the trial version only lets you look at the launcher menu. Is there some trick to being able to try out something past the menu? Any functions at all?
Trial Version Does Nothing?

Welcome to the forums Dov,
This is a problem that has started occurring with the TBYB and Vista. What the error actually means is that the 30 day trial has expired, which I know is not your situation. The time-checking is apparently screwed up. I wonder if this has been caused by the Daylight Savings Time being moved up 3 weeks???? I don't know, but it is a real strange coincidence.
You are installing and running under an administrator account? If not then try that.
First Try doing a repair install, Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, but select the Repair option. If that does not work then...
Try doing a complete un-install/re-install. Ulead programs leave a lot of files behind. So just doing a simple add/remove programs from the control panel and then re-installing may not correct some issues. Instructions can be found here : Re-installation of Ulead Products
NOTE:
When reinstalling make sure to shut down all background applications such as anti-virus, spyware checking, instant messenger programs. This is to ensure there is nothing that will interfere with the install.

No, MF6 is XP & Vista.
It's similar to leaving your car unlocked in the city.
Vista has now added more system protection similar to what Mac's & Linux machines have done for years. Which is not running the programs with administrative rights.
Ron, you install software with as administrator but shouldn't run as administrator, this leaves Vista unprotected which defeats one of the purposes of running Vista. If any programs need to be run as "Administrator" they need to be fixed to run a normal user. You are installing and running under an administrator account? If not then try that.

Actually Ron and John you're both right.
The error message is stating that a limited user cannot use the software and so it needs an administrator.
Paradoxically you shouldn't run software as an administrator unless your making essential changes to a program.
The workround would appear to be to use the Run As Option.

I don't think the trial version of VS10 runs on Vista and you can't install the Vista Service Pack
