MF 6 Plus Trial-Import from DVD Issues

Post by myeshop4u »

I am using the trial version of MF 6Plus, I tried to import some videos of songs which were ripped. I am using Import/Capture function, and then I"Import from DVD". It imports the DVD song correctly and loads it up but when I click on burn, the process starts and the status bar which says "detail progress: converting video of the tiltle" seems to stop around 60%. It can burn 2 or 3 songs with no probs but as soon as I try to burn 5 or 6 songs, the process sometimes go upto 50% or 60% and does nothing after that for hours. Has anyone tried this before and maybe there is a work around. Plse help as I really like to buy this product but if it doesn't do what I want then i may have to consider something else (if there is anything!) My system: celeron 2.66, 512 Ram, & 80gig hard drive.
Maybe the trial version is not capable of doing more then 5/6 songs.
Plse help!!

Depends how you use the term "Ripped" to create your source material.
The source videos may be playable but not editable. Depends on the program used to create the dvd you are importing.
Could also be only one of the mpegs has corruption in it.

Learn how to use MF export features to create a new dvd compliant file(s). Use those new files to burn to dvd.
Which video is corrupted will show up and should generate the same error.
It's easier to troubleshoot using the export features rather than in the end burning module when this happens.

It's dangerous to assume that something is a trial-version limitation!

A corrupted MPEG file can be tough to diagnose, because a bad file will often play OK, but cause trouble when you try to edit it or make a DVD out of it. If you do have a corrupted MPEG, there are a couple of programs that have MPEG repair tools. Both offer free trials, so you can try them out.

VideoReDo
Womble

These programs can't fix all bad MPEGs, but some people have had success with them. Also, MPEGs can sometimes become corrupted during the editing process, and in that case, using one of them for editing can prevent corruption.

Thanks guys for replying, the 6 videos of the songs i am talking are not corrupted as they all play properly. And I have also tried to sequence the songs in different order i.e import video 1 last, video 3 first and so on. It seems to get stuck around 60% but the time display clicks on without any error or message. I have burnt the same 6 videos dividing it on 2 DVD disks and it worked, ie 3 videos on one dvd and the other 3 on disk 2. there must be something else stopping it from converting past 60%. the size of the 6 videos is only 2.1gig which should fit on a standard DVD.

First have tried what Etech suggested? Exporting the video files? Then as DVDDoug mentions, that corrupted MPEG files may play ok, but cause problems when trying to burn or edit.

. Just because they play ok, does not mean they are not corrupt...
