Lousy Customer Service

Post by ponyboy »

The customer service at Ulead is real slick. Firstly. Every time I try to enter the main sight www.ulead.com, it won't let me sign in. My screen name and password are disabled so I have to keep creating new ones and reregistering under different names. I emailed customer service about a week and a half ago and never heard back from them. Then today I recieved this helpful response:

Question/Problem: Look, I just got my Sanyo xacti hd2 camcorder. It transfers my videos as mp4 files. I have Ulead studio 10 with vista. It doesn't take mp4 files. I can't seem to get it into ulead to use your software which I paid a 100 bucks for. Any ideas? It's asking me to what to open file with. I chose windows movie player, but I can't import it into ulead studios 10. Please help. -------------------------------------------

This doesn't solve your issue, please give us more details :

Sincerely,

Ulead Customer Service

So, anyway, I check the "does this help resolve your problems question form and clicked to send it back, but it takes me to a blank page. Then, I clicked on the link for customer service that he gave me, but it takes me back to the main page, www.ulead.com, which I can't get in. Very slick. And Oh, by the way, I did originally file my complaint with customer service. If you pay 100 bucks for software you can't use they could give a rats behind. That is their customer service in a nutshell.

You are barking up the wrong tree. It's VISTA which does not support MPG4 format. Nothing anyone at ULEAD could do to fix that.

So why are people buying these cameras which only output highly compressed video, with the intention of editing, formats like MP4?

They are difficult to edit yet people still try and then get angry at the software when it can't handle it.

Is it ignorance of formats, not doing their homework, not researching just what format these cameras output?

Since your using Vista I would download & install this program.
Convert the file to an editable format that VS10 can work with like mpeg2 or DV.
I've used this program many times, it's pretty nice. Claims to work on Vista.

All of the above, I think. Mostly not doing their homework though. It's sales people in the stores also. They know nothing and pass that on. As long as they make a sales. On top of that, someone insisting on using VISTA complaining about VS not working with mpeg4 really takes the cake for ignorance.
