This is actually 2 problems:
1. I recently had a problem that was ultimately solved by downloading new drivers for my video card. While trying to fix that problem, I had upgraded to MF 5 and upgraded BTV as well.
Now my render times for DVD have gone from 20+ minutes to 90+ minutes.
2. When MF attempts to burn the DVD, I get a pop-up box saying that "The burner is busy for another application". I have BTV 4.5 with the DVD burning plugin. Even if I exit BTV before launching MF, I still get the pop-up. Here's the weird part, if I just try burning again, it usually works.
Any ideas how can I can fix either or both problems?
thanks
Dave
Long DVD render times with MF 4.x/5.x and "busy burner
I don't know anything about BTV, bit some burning software can "take-over" your burner. This is usually caused by "drag & drop" burning software that's always running in the background.
If that's the case, you can either disable the other software or [/i]Create DVD Folders[/i] on your hard drive, and then use the other software to burn the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders to an actual DVD.
20 minutes is very quick, and I suspect that the video was already DVD compliant MPEG-2. If this is still the case with your new version of BTV, check the box that says Do Not Convert Compliant DVD Files.
