Windvd 8 and Windvr 6 Time Frame

Post by Bignickfly »

I have sent several messages requesting infomation. but nothing.

Power DVD ultra have been out for months and is at revision three.

Power DVD recorder has DVB-t digital support for years.

When is Intervideo going to support its customers and provide
HD DVD, Playback, DVB-T recording.

Thanks Rod

From the lack of replies I assume that no one knows?

WinDVR6 is bundled with Hercules DVB-t usb tuner which has been out for a year or more.

WinDVD8 with HD-DVD is bundled with Toshiba HD-DVD Laptop.

I suppose I'll need wait some more.

Hi Rod,

For HD DVD playback support, you might need to buy a Toshiba HD DVD laptop, as you have noticed.

For DVB-T recording, you could check Ulead VideoStudio or Ulead DVD MovieFactory.

Ulead VideoStudio:

Ulead DVD MovieFactory:

Hope this helps.

No its off topic,

What I was asking is in what time frame eg(1 mth, 1 year, never ?) is Intervideo making avaliable retail verisons of Windvd8 that has HD-DVD playback. also a WinDVR6 retail versions . I mean its unfair to advertise that your product WINDVD8 has DVD-HD and BD support and then say "To be purchased separately. Available soon - check back often!"

Sorry if what I post did not help you.

BTW I'm not a InterVideo or Ulead employee now. I'm only a user who is trying to help.

I'm sorry you are not with Ulead, I'm sure you could provide some infomation on the road map for windvd8.

Is just that Windvd8 was released in Nov 2006 at the time its no better that Windvd7, its fine if you want to buy a Toshiba LapTop complete with windvd 7.5 to play HD-DVD.

But to have a product that is aimed at HD-DVD like, BlueRay like WinDVD8 and fail provide the plugins to make it work in IMO is just very unfair.
I think Intervideo needs to put in place a road map so that customers who purchase WinDVD 8 know that the product there buying is leading some where.

Here we are now May, Its have been six months since Windvd8 was released. but still no HD-DVD play back?

I've sent two member inquiries to Intervideo and guess what, NO reply.

I think its time to move on to another vendor, I have all ways like Windvd up till now.
