Yes, in some cases I prefer to reinstall the whole thing from scratch. But when in concerns my PC that has been running smoothly for a few years and there are a few dozens of progs running smoothly, another few dozens that requires fine tuning and a dozen that just requires plain tuning, then full reinstalling is not always the best solution, considering the time I will spend later on my PC.

The problem [17101:7:1] definitely lies outside of Ulead MSP. Most probably it's in the way that some video codecs are installed or not installed. But that's the only thing I could guess so far. I think Ulead should know better what can be the cause of this problem.

Yes, now I did full uninstall of all Ulead products I used to have, I cleaned the registry manually and automatically, I deleted all other files and folders and %temp% and everything that could be originating from Ulead and I followed the steps in the recommended links in this forum too. Then I reinstalled UMSP and I have the same negative result, when trying to put on the timeline for instance an AVI file produced by a Canon photo camera (that uses mjpeg compression).

Do you have the MJPEG codec installed on your machine? My Kodak camera uses the MJPEG codec, however wraps it in the MOV file extension. The camera software just so happened to install the codec on my machine. You can get the MJPEG codec here: http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/technicalsV3.htm

Hi, guys!

You won't believe that! I didn't sofve the prob so far. I have uninstalled all the progs that had anything to do with video. I have manually cleaned up all the keys with contained reference to them. I have cleaned up references to .dll and .ax files originating from Ulead and the producers of the uninstalled progs. I reinstalled UMSP afterwards with the same negative result. Then I installed GSPOT codec analyzer on both PCs - at work, where everything is ok with ulead and at home, where it doesn't work. I made full printout of codecs and other filters list of GSpot at work, brought it home and compared during the whole weekend. Changed a few priorities, installed one or two codecs that were installed at work. Reinstalled UMSP once or twice after that. Cleaned up registry using WinASO registry optimizer. But still, it doesn't help. So I must assume that reinstallation from scratch should work. But then I think to myself - what if it doesn't... )))

At the moment I have at least 3 codecs capable of (de)coding mjpeg. The decoding ones were ok from the start. Now I also have Mainconcept, Matrox and Morgan codecs for mjpeg, both VideoForWwidows and DirectSHow. Nothing helps...
