Problem WinDVD8 Platinum - Vista Ultimate & Right Click
Hi,
I have WinDVD8 Platinum and am running it on Windows Vista Ulitmate. My problem is that everytime in the program when I right click to bring up the menu, it appears for a second and then i get an error message saying pbViWnd an invalid argument was encountered, and it exits from the right click menu. I tried uninstalling WinDVD8 and reinstalling it but still have the same problem.
If anyone knows what the problem is or how to fix it please let me know. Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem on Windows XP. I even reinstalled my whole computer today, and it worked fine from the beginning, but after installing some other software I got the same problem again.
I suspect it might have something to do with Nero package since it was the last thing I installed before the problem re-occured, but I may be wrong. Have any of you installed/updated Nero recently?

This doesn't seem to be an o/s specific problem, I'm on Win XP Pro SP2 and i'm getting the exact same error.jyong11363 wrote:Hi,

Uninstalling and reinstalling makes no difference, the error persists.

it is doing the exact same thing for me on vista home premium.it annoys me as i have had nothing but bug after bug ever since i first installed it on my xp system in december ( i have had vista 2 months and have had no other problems with any other software).
i have been using wmp 11 that came with vista and have uninstalled windvd 8. the picture quality of wmp11 on my lcd is phenominally better than it is with windvd 8.
can i get a refund if this problem is not fixed?
plus ,sjj1805 must have the highest post rate of the exact same post in the history of forums, and they are of miniscule help as the intervideo faq does not answer any relevent faq's of 99% of posts on these forums.

i have tried everything AND i mean everything including contacting support and well.....it has been 2 weeks since i entered my support ticket and all i have received is the usual email "a support rep will reply within 48 hours" blah blah ,and it reeaallyy frustrates me.
i mean no disrespect to sjj1805 but the faqs really dont help with technical issues 1 iota.
vista does utilize 5.1 sound as part of the os as long as your sound card does. it does for me.
it didn't when i had xp.you had to use the codecs provided by a program such as windvd or powerdvd for video and sound (usually just having the trial worked as long as you dont use the trial program the video codecs still worked for wmp) and download ac3 filter from http://ac3filter.net/ and you are set to go.
