I bought the german version of moviefactory online on the ulead webpage in january ("FilmBrennerei 5") but the activation did not work. I was frustrated since I wanted to use the program right away to burn a video on dvd.
Today (yes I know, more than 2 months later..), I tried it again without success. I don't know what to do or who I shall contact. I can't get any online support as I don't have a serial number yet and I can't find any email-address on the ulead homepage.
I have an email by "element 5" with the activation code and the installed "filmbrennerei 5 TBYB" I downloaded and installed a day before I bought the software online. I reinstalled the software but that didn't help-
What should I do?

Activation/Registration of TBYB does not work :(
I would use your element 5 account and contact them first.
Then check your firewall settings, I think the activation process possibly uses some other ports for communication that could be blocked by your firewall or router. Maybe try disabling your firewall on your computer & router (if you have one).
If that doesn't work I would contact element 5 and negotiate to possibly exchange/transfer your money to obtain the full download version of MF6.
My choice has always been the full download or CD version of MF.

First I'll point out that member Georg has a German version of the forum available. It can be accessed here: http://www.ulead-fanboard.de/.
Try doing a complete un-install/re-install. Ulead programs leave a lot of files behind. So just doing a simple add/remove programs from the control panel and then re-installing may not correct some issues. Instructions can be found here : Re-installation of Ulead Products
Then finally I will add that even though Ulead does offer this method, activating a TBYB version, we don't recommend it. It seems that users have problems such as yours, activating, and then later installing patches. The patches don't see the activation as a full version, so therefor will not install.
