How to save audio as MP3 file?
I'm trying to figure out the "create sound file" option under "share". I want to create a .mp3 file that I can distribute to people, separate from the video.
But the "save as type" field doesn't allow creating an mp3 file. I know I can go to options > compression and pick the MPEG Audio Layer 3 codec, but how do I get a file in mp3 format?
I suspect it's something really obvious that I'm missing here, but I just don't get it.
thanks in advance...
David

CHECK IT OUT
Share -> Create Sound File
Save_As_type = WAV
Click On Options
Click on "Compression Tab"
Change "Format" to "Mpeg Audio Layer 3"
Change "Attributes" to your desired bit_rates
I use 48khz Stereo 224kbs Constant (probably overkill but they sound nice converting from wav files)
Save the file with the default extension WAV.
After conversion rename the WAV file extension to MP3.
WAV is also container format, wav's don't always have to be ucompressed raw format.

This forum is nice because many people share what they know.
I've found it very handy using VS to convert multiple audio tracks and export them out to one mp3 file. It's very fast. I highlight all the audio tracks at once to import, assign the first one, they load, then export.
I hope they don't take this feature out of VS11+ after reading this thread.
Quick! Delete it Steve or Ron!
