Customized MS Pro

I want to upscale to Media Studio Pro, but I need to be sure that it will work well with a Plextor M402U ConvertX for video capture. I inquired at the Plextor website and was informed that there is a customized version of MS Pro that will work with my capture device. I've been through the Ulead site and cannot find any information about a customized version. Emailed customer service and they directed me to tech. help and/or forums to have my question answered. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

Your converter is not meant as a capture device, so much as a distribution device. MSP8 should accept its MPEG-1 and -2 outputs as is. For MPEG-4, you will need the MPEG-4 plug-in and it should be OK. Note that these, plus WMV, DivX, XViD etc., are all distribution formats and, as such, are not really meant for editing. You may suffer some quality loss if you require to re-render your project or parts thereof. Some of the formats are also quite slow to render, to boot.

I think you should contact Plextor for that information, since you saw the information on their website....
