moviefactory 6 text duration

Post by bigmalh »

when in edit video and on the text tab the clock with the text duration is blank i have reinstalled twice and it's the same so i downloaded the tbyb version uninstalled the full one and installed tbyb and that is the same blank clock also why does adding a tiltle make the project length treble
ie import video (dvd compliant) file length 1.5 gb go into edit video text tab add a few words on screen press ok project length jumps up to over 5 gb all i added was 3 words doesnt happen in mf5 though so i assume its buggy software as it usually takes 3 or 4 installs to get one that doesn't come up with ERROR 1670 but no further info any ideas anyone is anyone able to set text duration in their mf6 ??

When you go into the EDIT room you have 2 views.
A Thumbnail/storybook view and a Timeline view.
Page 22 of the users manual will show the timeline view.

To change to the timeline view right to the left of the videoclip timeline view is an icon, when you pass your mouse over it a pop-up box will say "Switch to timeline View". Click on that, highlight the Text Track and you can then set the length of the text. It's similar to VideoStudio's Storybook/Timeline views.

The project is growing because your "Project Settings" are not set to equal your source material. Even if it's dvd compliant once you edit the video it's not dvd compliant anymore and needs to be re-rendered to a new file.
MF6 should prompt you to change the project settings to match the video when you insert it, answer yes or set the project settings manually under the GEAR Icon -> Customize.
