Editing a two camera shoot
My daughters have a dance recital soon and I wanted to do the video for it. I have access to two Sony hard disk cameras. I wanted to do a long shot that captures the whole stage and the second camera for close ups. My question is this. Is Ulead well equiped for this (I have version
? Is there another product that is better suited to this type of production? What would be the method for accomplishing this with Ulead VS8?

Actually, I did post a question under another similar topic and you gave me a specific answer to that question, but I was looking for a more complete answer about the general proceedures for editing - splicing together such a production. Thanks for your answer specific to version 8 but the more information I can gleen the better. That's why I opened a new thread instead of piggy backing off the bottom of another thread. I need all the help I can get. So - what specific steps would you take to put together such a production as described in the thread. I am using two hard disk cameras. One Sony and the other one unknown at this point, maybe Sony and maybe not. I am a complete newbie to video editing although I am very familiar with digital audio editing as I own and operate a small audio recording business. Any gems you can throw my way would be appreciated.

My best suggestion would be - do some smaller, and easier, projects before attempting one so difficult. You've picked one heck of a way to get started.
