Making movies from .MOV file

Post by bobinla »

When I import a .MOV to create into a DVD movie (that I can use with the TV and tabletop DVD player), the result is a bit visually jaggy or garbled. Not bad but not as clear as the .MOV. I don't have the original to work with, just the .MOV. I was curious if such is the nature of attempting to make a movie from an already compressed file (perhaps not much unlike making Xerox copies from copies and some loss of quality via each generation), or if perchance this is something addressed via filter or other technique to improve the clarity of the resulting movie coming from an already compressed file.

It makes sense to me that it would lose quality but I was curious if others have dealt with this. :)

TIA,
Bob
