No audio problem fixed - here's what Ulead advised

Post by Poyda »

I had sound when i played back a video clip, but not when I selected "project". I had recently upgraded from XP Pro MCE to Vista Home Premium. I installed Video Studio 10plus. I had previously had VS9 and when I installed VS10+, this simply installed to a separate folder. Ulead recommended that I uninstall VS10+ and completely remove the Ulead folder. Also, Clean up temp files from\Start menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\Disk Cleanup. This is to ensure there are no corrupt files anywhere. Then reinstall VS10+ again, as well as the service pack1 and the Vista patch.
Also in order to avoid any unnecessary conflict, temporarily turn off all applications which includes anti virus, norton utilities, or other memory resident programs, and also shut down any Internet connection etc. before you run the VideoStudio 10 installation.
It is interesting to note that when I first attempted installation of VS9 a few years ago, it would not even install until I turned off antivirus software. I think these points should be made clear to all Ulead customers to begin with. It might go a long way to removing the frustrations of many users.
However, thanks to Ulead for their quick response to my logged problem.
