Per your suggestion, I did some experimenting with capturing directly from my VHS tapes that had previously been professionaly created from my original Super 8 movies, instead of capturing from DVDs that I had made of the professionaly created VHS tapes. The quality is certainly better when captured directly from the VHS tapes. However, there is still significant, and I do mean significant, degradation in the quality. Specificly, the more bright colors, like reds and dark blues are much too bright and very blurred. They remind me of colors on an old TV that had the Color setting set much too high. I'm using your technique of creating an mpeg file after my editing, prior to starting my Share (Create DVD) process.
Are there parameters or properties that I should change prior to doing the Capture from the VHS Tapes that might reduce the significant loss in quality, or do you have any other suggestions that I should try?
