With the DVD aspect, it is usually simply a matter of putting the disc into your computer and importing the video from it ("Insert DVD/DVD-VR"). Check the camera manual, though, as you may find that you have to "finish" the disc in the camera before transferring it to your computer.
I believe the HDD part of the camera films in standard mpeg-2 format (which is also the format used on the mini-DVDs, though there it takes the standard DVD format of .vob, which is a disguised and recoded version of .mpg).
You need to be aware that a lot of people have issues with editing mpeg-2. It can be done, and it can be done in VS10, but just be warned in case you hit problems.
Moreover, your camera does not receive good reviews in the video quality stakes, which will further complicate the issue of editing video from it. Here is one review on this point:
"Its 1/6-inch 680,000-pixel sensor records 340,000-pixel video, which simply isn't enough for the MPEG-2 compression algorithm to encode without significant degradation. Severe edge crawl and jaggies, fringing, and a variety of false-color artifacts--especially around light sources--render the video close to unusable. Even for YouTube."
In other words, just be prepared not to expect miracles.
