Having problem editing Quicktime .mov files.

Post by lukehourigan »

Ecstatic that I finally found software to convert .mov files from Mac to mpeg2 for use in Powerpoint on Windows. Older .mov files seem to behave but recently .mov file play in edit mode but cannot edit or share. When I attempt to share all I get is a still image when I play the converted file. Am I making a simple error ? Does Ulead have some Mac .mov file limitations? Could it be a video card/player issue ?

SUBJECT: Please use a subject that describes your exact problem instead of making us guess what's in your post.

Nature of the problem .mov files play beautifully within edit screen when opened in Video Studio but does NOT respond to jog slider at all. An older smaller .mov file seems to respond.

Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?) .mov from a Mac

What devices are involved and their mode of connection? External hard drive from Mac to Windows

Project Settings default settings

Output format (file, DVD, VCD, SVCD) Attempting to change the .mov file to an mpeg 2 to play on Powerpoint

PAL or NTSC Originally PAL to .mov but cannot change to mpeg2 with Ulead viseo studio. The resulting mpeg2 file is just a static image (the first frame offor the exact length of time of the video file.

NO error codes displayed

install quicktimealt147.exe. It solved all my mov-problems. Please let me know if it helped.

For all your .MOV file issues, please download the following file and save it (overwrite) to "C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 9.0\VIO" directory. ftp://userdl:guest@ftpph.ulead.com/uvqt.vio Make sure VideoStudio is not running before applying the patch.
