How to burn a svcd using a vcd project?
Is there any conversion tool available for this?
I've created vcd with photos, movies in my hard disk, now I want to burn a svcd same as the vcd. How can we do this?

Quality?
Are you trying to get better quality? or are you trying to get better compatibility?
The two formats are different, so you would have to re-encode your VCD material to SVCD specs -- and this won't provide better quality because you would be upsizing the resolution and bitrate (also going from mpeg-1 to mpeg-2).
You could get better quality if you started from a "higher" source and went to SVCD directly, but going from a lower source (VCD) to SVCD won't improve the quality, and you will limit yourself on the amount of video you can put on your disc.

I want the better quality with svcd format, but the project should be the same.
I mean all those materials I picked for creating the vcd should be there in the svcd. But I dont want to create a new ulead project for that with svcd as the disc option.
In fact I'm seeking the possibility of using same ulead project file for multiple formats vcd, svcd and dvd. I dont want to manually repeat arranging everything for another format.

You can do it in the new DVDMF 4, but change the media type from DVD to SVCD/VCD in DVDMF 4 will disable the following capabilities:
Motion menu video buttons
Motion menu video backgrounds
16:9 aspect ratio
BTW, VCD frame size (352x240 for NTSC, 352x288 for PAL) is still DVD-complaint and you should be able to use it in your DVD project, that's why Ulead make an Archive 6 VCDs into 1 DVD project template in DVDMF 4.
And, if your source materials are really VCD-complaint, you can use the Archive 6 VCDs template in DVDMF4, and check Do not convert complaint MPEG files and then uncheck both Support X-Disc and Two-Pass Convertor options in the Project Settings DB to enable the Ulead Smart Render technology so DVDMF 4 will not re-encode your source materials and burn the disc. But the most important thing is, your project settings must precisely match the properties of your source materials.
Hope this helps.

One other trick is the videos on your VCD disk are already in MPEG
format directly on the disc.
Depending on what type of VCD disk you made they will be located
in a directory called MPEGAV or (_hit I forget!!).
Anyway, navigate throughout the VCD using windows Explorer and
find the files with the extension .DAT (The first one is always the menu,
you don't need that, the others are the videos). They are all named
in sequence.
Copy them to the harddrive and rename them .MPG
Also you may have to remove the attribute read-only from them.
Then start a new SVCD/DVD project and import the videos into the
project.
Doing this you will have to re-create the project again but hey.
Hope this helps,

For the re-encoding issue, you can do the followings:
1. Click on the Gear button on the bottom left corner in DVD MovieFactory (or hold the Alt key and press J).
2. Click on the Change MPEG Settings button and select Customize, then adjust the project settings to precisely match the properties of your source materials.
3. Click on OK to return to the Project Settings dialog.
4. Check Do not convert complaint MPEG files.
5. Uncheck MPEG audio as non DVD-complaint if you see the option available.
6. Uncheck Support X-disc if you see the option available.
7. Uncheck Two-Pass Convertor if you see the option available.
8. Click on the OK button to close the Project Settings dialog.
Then the Ulead Smart Render technology will be activated and DVD MovieFactory will not re-encode your source materials, unless for:
1. Any media clips that are been edited.
2. Any media clips that do not match the project settings.
3. Your source materials are slide-show pictures.
Ulead Smart Render technology can be activated in all Ulead video/DVD products with similar steps.
Hope this helps.

Sorry, my mistake. In DVDMF, the Customize option will not be appeared for VCD projects, but it will appear when you create a DVD or SVCD project.
In DVDMF 4, you can switch the project type from VCD to SVCD or DVD directly and you do not need to re-create the project.
