I have an XP sp2 host and I'm running the trial version of DVD MovieFactory 6+ and I have followed the steps to import video that has been copied to the computer HDD.
But everytime I try to run the "Import DVD Folder", the program crashes with this error from the EventLog:

Import Issues for HDR-SR1
Does the program crash immediately when you click on the Import Dvd Folder? In other words the navigation panel never displays, the navigation panel should display after you click on the dvd folder icon.
After clicking on the "Import Dvd Folder" a navigation window will open displaying your system drives. Then you select the drive or folder to import.
That's how it's supposed to work.
A previous poster wrote in saying he had to reformat the avchd camcorders harddisk because an index file was corrupted. He backed up the camcorders drive to his harddisk. Formatted the harddisk and copied the new file into the backup folder. Think it was an index file.

I can click on one of the "Clips" then it start its process and after a few seconds it bombs out.
I have saved off the the directories and files from the camera to the computer, I have formated the camera HDD, I have replaced the index file, I have taken new video and tried to import that off the camera, all with the same results.
I don't know what to do next, I have downloaded two different times and reinstalled, I've logged in with a different account too, same result.

If you formatted the cams HD, then recorded a 2 minute video on it.
Opened up MF6+ and try importing directly from the cam, that should work.
I don't see any other options to try except for making sure your "Working Folder" under "Preferences"(F6 Hotkey) is assigned to a large drive and your temporary directories are clean, and your home directory is valid (not connected to a MS server roaming profile or network server).
I have used the trial & full MF6+ version to import from some mini dvd-rw's, so the trial version worked reading the avchd format written on those disks.
I would test the importing dvd function of MF6 and make sure it's also working for importing a standard definition non-copyprotected dvd. See if it imports a dvd or dvd folders (VIDEO_TS) correctly.
Are there any other ulead applications installed on your computer?

Sorry, can you help me! When I connnect my cam SR-1 to the PC and go to import DVD..., till I point out the AVCHD folder of the cam and click OK, but nothing listed out as you described, just a certain small window flashing and then back immediately to MF6 window.
I've tried many times but still couldn't see the list of AVCHD video clips in MF6 window for import.
I have change the .dll as per sjj1805's instructions, but still...
