MF 3.5 WON'T RECOGNIZE PIONEER DVR-509 WITH W98SE

Post by bzaja »

I've got MF 3.5 with the Pioneer DVR-509 that I bought. I've got a W98SE system. I installed MF 3.5, but it doesn't recognize it. W98SE does recognize the drive. I can put a CD or DVD in it and Windows can see to copy from but MF 3.5 won't see it.

For example, when I run burnow! the only option it gives me for "Select Drive" is to create an image file.

I see that pioneer and Ulead have patches. Which ones should I run? The Pioneer patches or Ulead patches?

Please help.

Do you have any other burning software on your computer? Some burning software will "take over" your drive.

If there is a conflict, you can try disabling the other software, or you can create the DVD structure to your hard drive and then use your other burning software to copy the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders to an actual DVD.

- - - When you get to the "burn" step, check the box that says Create DVD folders and un-check Create Disc. If that works, you'll get the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders on your hard drive, instead of on a DVD.

It could also be possible that your new burner doesn't work with Win98 drivers.

You should try the Pioneer patches. The update packs on Ulead website are for Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3.0, not 3.5.

For Ulead patches, you only need this one if you own a copy of DVDMF 3.5 Suite:

CD/DVD Burning Patch:

You can also try Devil's suggestion to see if your burner is working well.

Hope this helps.
