So I have downloaded approx 12 hours (12 one hour videos) of action packed 5th grade basketball in .avi file format. I would like to play/edit thru that footage in a linear fashion, and snip highlite clips out. I had hoped to have 10 buckets(1 per kid) and would drop the newly clipped highlite in to said kids bucket. After gettting thru the the 12 hours, I would then review and edit each kids bucket.
I cannot identify the proper UVS tool to represent the buckets. Should I be looking at Libraries and/or Chapters to reprent these buckets?
This being only my 2nd video (1st with UVS), I may be approaching this in wrong manner. Looking forward to future threads.
Noob workflow ???

In VideoStudio the thing you refer to as buckets is the Library manager.
You would create separate libraries for each of the 'kids' and place you snippetts (clips) in there.

I recently completed a video that is very similar to what you are doing. I made separate libraries for each kid, and even edited them as separate projects. I just found it easier to keep everything straight that way.
I initially tried adding them to the main project as VSPs, but I found there to be some jerkiness to the clips. I ended up rendering each "mini" project to it's own AVI. I then brought them all together to make my completed project. You can view it here.

Thanks for the quick input folks. I am very anxious to get started.
Ever since buying Sony HC3 last Dec., and enduring 6 hour DVD burn on my small laptop, I have been working towards this week. I choose to do my first home build in approx 20 years, and we are finally up and running. Loaded up Vista 64 (working quite well for my limited usage) and Ulead VS 10+, and now I'm ready for Hollywood!
Thanks for the links, and all future assistance. After seeing all the assistance you both have given to others, hopefully I can give back some initial thoughts as well.
