i've created a vsp but would like to create a new project with many of the same pictures, effects, etc.

is there any copy & paste function so i can pick and choose from my existing project and place into a new one...without having to start from scratch?

thanks.

I might be missing something here, but couldn't you just save the existing project with a new name. Then go through the timeline of this newly named project, picking and choosing what you want to retain.

The original project will, of course, remain unchanged under its original name...

Yes I thought of doing that but my concern is that the quality of the images in my exisiting project has deteriorated bc I saved the images in this project in mpeg format and have done some editing as well as adding of title pages and music. I was thinking of creating a new project set to avi format, adding images (original from my hardrive) but using the same title pages (these took a long time for me to get just right and I'd hate to have to do them over)

You can re-use the text in your titles by simply dragging the text box from the timeline in your existing project up into the 'Title' library pane - then drag and drop them down again in the new project.

You can do the same with the background images into the 'Image' library

Within you VSP, those images are just thumbnail images (links) of the original photos or video, that are somewhere else on your PC. The VSP is nothing more then a set of instructions. Think of the VSP like a text file (it's not text) but none the less just a bunch of instructions, telling VS where your clips reside on your PC, where the cuts, transitions, overlays, what filters effects, etc., to be used when creating (rendering) your project to a video file.

So with that your images should be in the same state, until after the VSP has been rendered to a video file. You start a new project load the same clips, images into that new project, and they should be the same, so long as you're not inserting an image from a rendered video.

What's you title page(s) comprised of? A video clip, still images, or did you create them from color clips, and text within VS? If the latter is true then that information is stored in one of the "dat" files. You can drag the text to a library, that way they would be accessible with other projects, the color clips are always available, however if you created a customized color clip that can be saved in a color clip library, then any images, including the decoration, the flash are stored on your PC in their native formats.
