Burn failure - Format error

My DVD MovieFactory 3.5 software came with the Pioneer DVR-A09 16X dual layer burner I bought on 3/13. I put the dvd burner in an exterior drive enclosure and connected it to my Windows XP box (2.8G P4) via USB2.0. When I tried to burn a data or video dvd (single layer dvd+rw and dvd-r discs) I got “format error” message and the burn failed. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue? Thanks.

Do some googles on ASPI and forcing ASPI - it may be the root of the problem.

It's a good place to start.

I also recommend www.afterdawn.com forums and www.videohelp.com guides as a great place to start troubleshooting.

I've tried forcedASPI, and the problem remains. I've visited the 2 websites you recommended, but no luck. Does anyone else have other suggestions? Thanks.
