Trouble with the Easy Palette in PI12

I have read of several problems with PI12 and was happy that mine was running OK.
Was is the problem!! After installing the PI12 patch I now have a problem with my Easy Palette.
I have a lot of presets in my Gallery and up till now they worked perfectly. Suddenly the presets were not working when applied, if I searched for them PI would use them till the next time. All presets could be seen in the Gallery though.

I then deleted the files from my Gallery and reloaded them all and suddenly my Library vanished. No matter if I pressed Gallery or Library all it showed was the Gallery. The Library icon was missing to.

After I had de-installered PI12, including all the registry, I reinstalled it this worked ok. I then reloaded my presets, checking that my library was still there. After loading the last presets the Library was gone again.

I found no other way as to reinstall PI12 yet again, I have not loaded all my presets yet, hoping that someone has an idea what has caused this problem. Loading presets takes a while and I can not keep re-installing PI.

My system is: Windows XP home SP2
Graphic Card: Radeon 9250
Sound Card: Realtek AC97 Audio
Processor: AMD Athlon (tm) 64 3000+
Hard Disk Drive: 160GB
Memory: 1,5 GB

Hi Fiona,

this seems to be a rather common problem affecting some machines but not others. To be honest, I read a few things about it in a different forum http://p083.ezboard.com/bpirc67276 but can't remember if a solution has been found.

This forum is a PI international bulletin board with a lot of very experienced PI users. I'm sure you would find help there. You can even enrol in a free beginners workshop and find lots of interesting tutorials for the different PI versions on that site. You need to register though before you can access the board and, initially, your viewing time is restricted. Once you made a post though, the restriction to viewing time is lifted.

Give it a try.

I'm having a similar problem. I just reinstalled PI 12 onto my Vista System and downloaded the PI 12 patch for Vista but now I cannot access the presets in the Material Attributes. It keeps telling me that I have to download and install the "Content Packs". Any idea what this is? I've written twice to Ulead but don't have an answer yet. I thought maybe someone here might be able to help.

AFAIK, your problem is due to an issue with VISTA compatibility. There are a lot of things which are not yet fully supported under VISTA. The VISTA patch did not fix all issues. Sorry.

Thanks for the quick response Heinz. I'll have to wait for Ulead to get back to me and see what they say. As soon as they do, I'll make sure I post something here.
