Adding Images to timeline and maintaining aspect ratio

Post by rrobbins6111 »

I have a 16:9 project in MediaStudio Pro 8. I am try to add a number of 3:4 and 16:9 images to the time line to form a slideshow but the 3:4 images are stretched. If I highlight the image on the timeline and select Media Source Options, Display aspect ratio and Strech mode are grayed out and cannot be changed. The grayed out Strech mode is set to Keep aspect ratio. I know I'm missing something. Can someone help me ?

Drag them onto the timeline and select "maintain aspect ratio with moving path" perhaps?

Dunno - I resize or recanvas all my stuff externally before bringing it into MSP...

What are the settings on PREFERENCES, EDIT menu?
Maybe some of the settings restrict your possibilities.

The trick is to add the images to the project's project tray. From there, move them to the storyboard, from there add them to the timeline, but, check pan and zoom. From there edit the pan and zoom from the timeline. The pics will maintain proper aspect ratio, but, you have to deal with the pan and zoom

My prefered way, is to use Video Studio to make a slide show AVI and just include that. VS handles stills actually better than MSP. Go figure..

The easiest way is
1. Put one image on the timeline
2. Add 2-D Moving path and position and size it with "Keep aspect ratio" checked
3. With that image selected, Ctrl-C
4. Add all your other images to the timeline
5. Select with Shift pressed all the images except the first one
6. Right-click anywhere on the selection
7. Paste Attributes|Moving Path

All your images will now be centred and sized with the correct aspect ratio. Easier done than explained!
