I'm a Ulead convert. After using Power Producer for years it let me down when I had to upgrade to a Power Producer version the "saw" my WinTV-PVR-150. After that it was all down hill.
One thing that I really liked about PP was that it was very easy to edit pgm's I recorded. PP had an option , when editing , to either "save" the portion of a edited piece when using mark in/out or to "delete" the selected portion. It was very easy to remove commercials this way & to proceed on to burning said pgm to DVD.
My problem with MF5plus is I'm only able to "save" the mark in/out selection(s) & not delete. Which is fine for , say , editing the beginning & end of a movie to get rid of excess at the start & end but is useless for *in between* editing.
I do not do any fancy editing as alot of people do , just the editing of commercials & the like.
I'm sure MF5 can be as easy to work with...I just have not found out how.
TIA

You need to try the Ad-Zapper.
The following link is for VideoStudio (it's sister product)but the procedure is the same.
Multi Trim and the following article ad-zapper.

MF5 under Preferences set Quality=Best. There Has To Be An Easy Answer To My Question
Load source video.
First change your Project Settings to the same as your source material (GEAR Icon -> Change Mpeg Settings -> Customize)
MF5 Multi-Trim Module:
Default Method: Mark the in/out points of all the video sections you want to keep.
F3 Mark-In Point
F4 Mark-Out Point
or use ad-zapper

Re: There Has To Be An Easy Answer To My Question
Thank's for the tips.
While the commercial zapper option has its use you still end up with a bunch of saved clips of the pgm you are editing that have to be joined or deleted.
I still don't understand why in the world Ulead would not offer a "delete selected" option when using the in/out markers.
Anyway...I'm glad to get the info from the group that at least let's me edit the parts out of a recording even though Ulead make's it more time consuming than it need's to be.
On the bright side...MF5 does an excellent job of syncing audio/video & is by far the fastest working pgm I've ever used re converting & burning recordings to DVD.
It's worth every dollar charged.

It does, in the Multi-trim module you can toggle the selection mode whether to keep or remove.I still don't understand why in the world Ulead would not offer a "delete selected" option when using the in/out markers.
Find the icon to toggle the selection mode. It's somewhere's on the left side of the screen toward's the top.
Never use it, I mark the selections I want to keep.
But one can toggle the selection mode.
Deleting selected scenes
It does indeed. In the Multi-trim window, just hold down the Ctrl key while you click the scenes you want to delete. Then press the Delete key. Result: selected scenes deleted.radioredd wrote: I still don't understand why in the world Ulead would not offer a "delete selected" option when using the in/out markers.
There - any easy answer to your question (but next time, please use a subject line that gives a better clue to your question).
(
Yes, it's called 'Invert selection'.)etech6355 wrote: ... in the Multi-trim module you can toggle the selection mode whether to keep or remove.

Also the Ulead Editing Tutorial , my name , that the one fellow posted about earlier is one great piece of work. Extremely helpful.
I would advise to read the tutorials and work flows in the tutorial sections.
Tons of information in there you cannot find in any books.
Not sure about Internet Explorer but if your using FireFox web browser this is a nice trick.
Make a directory on your harddisk called Ulead_Html_Pages
When your on a webpage tutorial goto File -> Save Page As
Navigate to the Ulead_Html_folder you created, give the page a name and save it onto your local harddisk. Text & Pictures will be saved.
When you go back to the file you saved and click on it the tutorial will be displayed from your local drive.
Very handy to for future access & easy reviewing.
