Vista patch - do I still need the odler patches?

Post by ggrussell »

I download and keep patches on a backup hard drive in case I need to reinstall in the future. The Vista patch has 5in1 in the filename. So does it include all previous patches, too?

No I don't believe so.. If you mouse over any of the FTP links and look at the lower right of your browser (where the javascript messages appear), you will see that they all say ....5in1...

I too have the patches for all the previous versions on CD or DVD. That way I don't have to re-download them whenever I have to re-install. However with a recent version it's not a bad practice to download fresh copies.
