Project Thumbnails
Is there any way to keep thumbnails saved on a per project basis?
Currently it seems that the ONLY way to keep thumbnails is to save all of them.
TIA
Walt

Yes, below 'Capture' tab clk on 'Library Manager' icon> in Library Manger dialogue box, select Video (in drop down) >clk>New> type in the name of your project; repeat this procedure for Image, audio, Title. Is there any way to keep thumbnails saved on a per project basis?
Then before you start to capture clk> Video, Audio etc >select>Your Project and the captured Thumbnails will go into there. You can have several projects running simultaneously that can be deleted seperately when finished.

Ok, now I've done that....I've created video/audio library names that match the project name.
I opened a previous project (that I unfortunately deleted THOSE thumbnails), and the thumbs from the previous project are now there. What's gonna happen if I delete those. For this recalled project, I guess Have to recreate the thumbs for that project and save THEM in the appropriate libs?
TIA (again).

If you want to use the Thunbnails from one Project Library to another, select and Copy(ctrl+c) thunbnail then open the recipient library and paste (ctrl+v) into it.
For multiple thumbs select first -hold shift key down whilst selecting last all the intervening files will be selected, then copy and paste as above.

Sorry misunderstanding. You have opened a New project but your previous project library is still open if you delete those thumbs then you've lost them from your previous project so start a new library for this new project. Now, I open a NEW project. The thumbs from the project above are displayed. Can I delete these w/o losing the thumbs from the project above?
Edit: Although you are creating a seperate Library file for each project you can still open any of the libraries for any project by clking the drop down arrow and selecting the appropriate file.

When you use the library manager you create seperate libraries for each project. Starting a new project will not remove those thumbnails.
If you no longer want them you can delete that entire library folder.
doing so will delete the library from the original project.
Unlike MediaStudio (It's big brother) you cannot have a local library manager for one project. the libraries are visible in all of your projects.
Think of it like Windows Explorer where you can create folders to place things and then delete a folder when it is no longer of use.

No. VS has it's basic library where the thumbnails for the sample clips reside. This is also where your clips will go if you don't make a separate library for them.
But with the Library Manager you can make seperate libraries for your different projects. When you first open VS it will open with the default library, but all you have to do is open the library for the project you will be working on. I do it all the time.
I just finished a highlight DVD for my son's basketball team. I separated the highlights by player, so I had 15 different libraries for the 15 different players. Made life much easier.
See page 39 of the User's Manual for more details.
