How to export vector objects?

I am looking to export a vector object that I created in photo impact so that some else that is using adobe can utilize it.

Is there a mechanism for doing this, or am I locked into using UFO's?

You don't say which version of PI you are using,but you should be able to save in Photoshop format. It is listed in the dropdown menu when you use Save As:

You can export a Windows Metafile and as noted a Photoshop PSD. The future is with *SVG files (scalable vector graphics), which is being pushed by Adobe and many others, but software supporting them is in short supply right now.
