Authoring Subjects

Post by dr.onestone »

Hello,
I am using Ulead VideoStudio V10.
I have completed 2 separate videos and wanted to burn them on 1 DVD with an intro menu.
I was successful with all of that tasks with 2 exceptions (minor things, but I am sure that experienced users have an answer to my question):
1.) If I move with my mouse of the 2 pictures which reference the start of the 2 videos, the picture turns in a ugly blue color. Is there a possibility to choose another effect (at least to choose another color)?
2.) If I choose to play video 2 the other video is automatically played after the end of video 2. How can I arrange that only video 2 is played and at the end of video 2 the menu appears again?
Many thanks to the helper in advance.
I am using Windows XP.
My Ulead VideoStudio is version 10.
My camcorder camera is Sony DCR DVD-505.
Thus - my source video is MPEG-2 stored on small DVD disks.

... and third question appears:
3.) Is there an easy way to store somehow the menu picture so that I can print it out to use it as a paper cover in my DVD jewel case?
Much regards to everybody

You can't do that within VS.
2.) If I choose to play video 2 the other video is automatically played after the end of video 2. How can I arrange that only video 2 is played and at the end of video 2 the menu appears again?
On the first screen of the Share step you will see 3 icons at the bottom left. The middle one are the Project Settings. Under Navigation Controls uncheck the Auto Repeat box, then you can choose Back to Menu from the drop down list.

If the menu image is one of your's you can find the path to it on the Edit tab of the Edit Menu window. If it's a VS menu template the are located under Program Files > Ulead > VideoStudio 10 > Content > Menu Templates. Note that they are Photo Impact files.

Hello Jeff,
thanks a lot for the quick reply. I repeat once more your answers to avoid any misunderstandings:
1.) The ugly blue cannot be changed. It is a pity!
2.) Thanks very much - I have found that control button.
3.) Here I have a problem with your answer. I use an own composed menu with 2 pieces of 30 seconds lasting clips, a background picture and 2 text fields. I want to get a screenshoot of that whole composition for the printout of my cover. Is that possible?
Much regards and once more many thanks for your help

Burn to a DVD Folder and then use MenuEdit to alter it.
Alternatively use a Menu that includes a 'highlight' image
Yet another alternative build a menu with PhotoImpact.

For your print out, whilst you have the Menu on the preview screen of the VideoStudio authoring module, hit your PrtSc button on your keyboard.
Now open an image editor (PhotoImpact, Photoshop etc) and you can then paste the image.
