Some other driver is interfering with Burning

Post by DrNorm »

I have DMF 4.0 installed, as well as having a number of other packages installed including Nero 6.6 and Roxio 6. I have authored my first DVD in 4.0 and am trying to burn it to my new NEC-3520A. However, after creating the VOB and starting the burn, the burning process never starts.

Methinks that one of my other packages is tieing up the burner and I'm baffled.

Me thinks you are right!

My computer came with Roxio installed. It wanted to take-over my computer... It wanted to run all the time. I started automatically, and I don't think I could exit, or completely stop the program.

I solved the problem by re-formatting my hard drive & starting-over. I've only used my DVD drive for video-DVDs. I'm not writing "data", so, I dont' need Roxio or Nero.

In the words of Tarzan: Nero good, burn!

Roxio's UDF drivers interfere with ULEAD and make it basically non-functional. It's a ULEAD problem and not a ROXIO problem because Roxio "plays well" with other similiar software.

If you don't install or uninstall the DVD MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator - Extra content you should be OK. That's what installs the unique UDF drivers and also appears to slow down the system.
