Double Layer???
Can someone explain what is meant by the term "double layer"? I know that there are DVD burners that have this feature and what type of DVD disc have been catagorized to use this format?
Thanks

DVDs are constructed of several layers of material, like a sandwhich. Single layer DVDs have one layer that can be recorded onto.
The dual (double) layer DVD is constructed so that there are actually two layers that can be recorded onto, like a sandwhich. The laser in the burner can be focused so that it can record on the 'top' layer or pass through it and record on the layer beneath. Each layer is capable of holding ~4.7 Gbytes of data.
