Chroma Key problem with black

Post by Fletch97 »

My chroma key video is great EXCEPT the black suit I've got on has serious transparency. Is there something I'm missing? I'm using VS10+ and the Ulead blue screen background. Everything looks great except my black suit.

Maybe you should have worn a yellow suit.

Have you adjusted the color similarity (using the scale to the right of the eyedropper)?

Yeah, I have to turn it down to about 30 to get the black to be solid, but then background is heavily shaded. When I make it 100 the suit is nearly transparent. I would think the opposite would happen?

It could just be that your suit is too close in contrast to the background. Try it with the sample clip (V14) that comes with VS. Try to chroma-key out the girl's shirt. Is that result similar to what you are experiencing?
