Where is the error log

I had been using VS 8 without apparent porblems. It now has been several months since as I had installed a new aduio card and UAD-1 DSP cards for my audio work station and have returned to using VS 8 for my daughters school project. Now the program is continually crashing. We got the project done, but I want to fix the problem. I have found the updates on the download page, but I also want to monitor success. How do I find the error log that is generated by the crash? Thanks!!!!
