UVS9Full_Patch1_5in1.exe - 'VS9 not installed' error

Post by yurtos »

Hi all,
I know this is old and there are a few posts on the same matter however none has a definite answer to fix it.

I have a VS9 SE that came with Winfast TV Tuner card. i have installed everything in their default installation folders and when i try to update it i get
"Setup cannot find Ulead VideoStudio 9.0 installed on your system" error. Ulead knowledge base is no help ether:

I find it hard to believe that Ulead engineers would set a static installation path.

Can someone confirm if SE versions (bundled with hardware) of Ulead products can be updated in the first place please ?

I guess the answer lies in the name of the file
UVS9Full_Patch1_5in1.exe though it does not state one way or the other in the Ulead website.

in other words VS9 SE users are not eligible for patches and updates?

Not entirely correct, see http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp90.htm

However, patches which add functionality which may cost license fees etc. are usually excluded for free versions.
