I've read tutorials and gone through message boards but I absolutely cannot figure out how to burn to DVD+R using Ulead Video Studio 8. I purchased this program about a month ago and so far it will only allow me to burn to DVD+RW/DVD-RW. If I insert a DVD+R into the drive and try to output, a message pops up saying that either the disk in the drive is not empty, or there is no disk in the drive.
Will someone please help me out??
Thank you for your time!

First, apply the Burning Engine Patch if you haven't done so yet.
Second, check VideoHelp to make sure the media you have is compatible with your burner. Some high-speed media may be incompatible, or require a firmware upgrade.
Third, consider disabling or removing any other program that might attempt to take control of the drive, such as Packet Writing software.
PS: If none of this helps, give us some detailed system specs, please

I installed the burning engine patch and I looked up my dvd-rw drive on VideoHelp, and it turns out that I needed a really critical firmware update.
I'm pretty sure the problem is solved now and I successfully burned my first DVD+R.
Thank you SO MUCH for your help and responding so quickly! I really appreciate it.

also make sure your disc isnt damaged.
My Mum has a DVD-R/+R burner.
she kept on endlessly ring me up saying it didnt work.
i went around 2 wks ago to see what the problem was.
wrote DVD-R as normal but as less than 1gb padded it out! so i checked the writer and yes it could do both formats.
she showed me the disc for +R. on the silver side was a scratch and gouge into the disc. i explained this may be the problem. tried another disc and hey presto she is burning discs of both sorts left right and centre.
so much for the older generation being past it!
