Playing Ripped content on Win DVD

Post by divine_kane »

Hi
I've recently bought and installed Win DVD 8 onto my laptop which is now running Vista Ultimate. However whenever i try to open any of my backed up (ripped) DVD's from my HDD it won't open the video_ts.ifo and so won't play properly.

I had this problem with a bundled cyberlink power dvd so this is why i switched. any solution?

Thanks

Did it work before you went VISTA?

If it happens when both PowerDVD and WinDVD, then there is something wrong in your system.

Bring your laptop to the manufacturer to see if the DVD drive is still working properly with burned DVDs.

I do not think it's a Vista issue.

Check your DVD Burner Manufacturers website to see if there is any updated firmware.

Firmware is software that is inside the DVD burner itself and enables it to 'talk' to the computer.

No worries

No worries guys, its neither a Vista issue nor Drive issue.

With my old software Asus DVD (before cyberlink power dvd) i could just open up the video_ts.ifo file and it would play it, but with WinDvD you need to have a folder called VIDEO_TS in order for it to work correctly.

Vista's great btw, no matter what people say. Bit expensive though...
Anyway cheers for the help :)
