Movie Factory 6 Plus TBYB Won't allow Try

Post by Everett Sanmann »

I downloaded all 237 mb of the Movie Factory 6 TBYB, and installed it according to instructions. When I attempt to access any of the features, I get the message:"Limit users can not try this product. You can use normally after successful activation." This hardly fits my definition of "Try" and certainly does not allow me to evaluate the product before "Buy"??? :(

It sounds like the TBYB anti-piracy has gone haywire... That seems to happen once in awhile.

You can try contacting Customer Service (not Technical Support... tech support won't respond 'till you have purchased & registered). But, I doubt they will tell you how to get-around the anti-piracy. Unless you have another computer to try it on, you are probably out of luck.

Assuming you've never used Movie Factory, an alternative is to look for a really cheap older-version on eBay. ...Maybe you can find something for $5 ??? If that works for you, it might be worthwhile to risk the upgrade. (If you do buy something on eBay, note that the "SE" versions are limited-feature versions that come free with hardware... just so you know what you are buying...)

To try DVDMF (or any other Ulead products), you need to use the administrative account. If you do not want to change to your account to the administrative one, you can right click on the DVDMF program icon and select "Run As", then use the administrative account to try.

Hope this helps.
