Have DVD Moviefactory 4. Plan on doing a slideshow of my kids for all of 2006. It's about 800-1000 photos. Would like to get the one song I can attach for the duration of the slide show. Is it possible in version 4?
If not, can I do this in version 5? I don't know much about audio editing would want Moviefactory to somehow matchup length of audio files(s) to the photos?
I don't want to buy Version 5 just for this but I will if that's the only solution.
Please let me know.
match audio to extend for length of slideshow in Ver 4?
I would make sure you apply the latest patches to MF4 before loading 800 pictures.
You can calculate the length of the slideshow (800 x 4 secs = 3200 secs).
Then use an audio editior to chain your audio tracks together and write one large audio file.
You may want to consider using 400 per slideshow, 800 is a lot to manage.
You can create more than one slideshow. After making the first just repeat the create slideshow again.
To make the dvd playback the 1st slideshow into the 2nd slideshow click on the GEAR Icon and make sure "Play next Clip" is selected.
Also, in MF on the last page (burning module), click on the downarrow to display advanced options. Somewhere's in those screens is a feature that says "Archive Slideshow Pictures to Disk". You may need to uncheck that feature if it's enabled otherwise you may run out of disk space on the dvd, expecially if you scanned the photos.
MF5 can load up to 10 audio tracks per slideshow.
I would also recommend to use these project settings, the defaults may not be the best for what your doing:
Click on the GEAR Icon, select "Change Mpeg Settings" -> "Customize"
Frame Size = 720x480 (ntsc)
Display Aspect = 4:3
Quality = 70 - 100
Video Data Rate = Variable 6000kbs
Audio = Dolby Audio 256kbs
Under Preferences (F6 Hotkey):
Quality = BEST
Working Folder = Point this to a large drive or NTFS partition if possible.
