Contents of a Project (VSP) file

Post by jparnold »

Does a utility exist which will list all files (clips) used within a Project file?

It would be great to be able to list all video and audio clips used with a project especially audio (music) clips so that I know which clips I have already used and so don't duplicate music as background music. Also so that I can backup all included clips with the project for later use.

I would write such a utility myself if I knew how such file names were stored within a project (vsp) file. I have opened a vsp file with a text editor however nothing much except font names are stored in text (readable) format.

This exists in MediaStudio but not to my knowledge in VideoStudio.
Perhaps you need to add it to the wish list.

Thanks Steve.

I have now found data within a project file which are the file names. If I knew the file layout it would be relatively easy to write a program to pull the file apart and list all filenames (clips).

Maybe a silly question but I will ask it anyway - is there a method of opening a project (vsp file) created with VS in MediaStudio?

Steve
Sorry but what versions of MS can open VS files and display the contents?
I have v7 VE. Also how do you list the contents?
